Clonil-75 SR Tablet belongs to a class of drugs called 'antidepressants' used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, panic and anxiety disorder. OCD is a mental disorder with symptoms such as excessive thoughts or ideas (obsessions), leading to repetitive behaviours (compulsions). Depression is a mood disorder associated with symptoms such as sadness and the inability to sleep properly or enjoy life as you used to do. Panic or anxiety disorder is linked to anxiety with sudden feelings of unnecessary fear or worries even when there is no danger in reality.
Clonil-75 SR Tablet contains Clomipramine, which works by increasing the activity of serotonin and noradrenaline (chemical messengers) in the brain, which is involved in regulating mood, behaviour, and emotions. Thereby, Clonil-75 SR Tablet helps relieve depression, lighten the mood and relieve anxiety symptoms such as fear and panic.
Take Clonil-75 SR Tablet with food as prescribed by your doctor and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it. Your doctor will advise you how often you take Clonil-75 SR Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea, weight gain, increased sweating, constipation, shaking, blurred vision, erectile dysfunction or difficulty in urination. Most of these side effects of Clonil-75 SR Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Clonil-75 SR Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Clonil-75 SR Tablet is not recommended for children below 17 years of age. Avoid taking Clonil-75 SR Tablet if you are pregnant, as it may cause harm to the foetus. Avoid breastfeeding while taking Clonil-75 SR Tablet as it may be excreted in human milk and cause adverse effects in the baby. If you have any self-harming or suicidal thoughts before taking Clonil-75 SR Tablet , inform your doctor as they may worsen in the initial days of taking Clonil-75 SR Tablet .
