ZYTANIX 5 TABLET contains Metolazone which belongs to the group of medicines called Diuretics. It is used for the treatment of hypertension. Hypertension is defined as persistently increased blood pressure, that can show symptoms like headache, sweating, fast heartbeat, or throbbing sensation.
ZYTANIX 5 TABLET is also used to treat oedema accompanying congestive heart failure and renal failure. Fluid regularly drains into body tissues from the blood. When this fluid isn’t removed from the tissue, fluid retention (oedema) occurs, causing symptoms like swelling and aching of affected body parts such as feet, ankles, or hands.
Prior to the treatment, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to understand your existing condition.
Avoid consumption of alcohol with ZYTANIX 5 TABLET as it may drop your blood pressure. ZYTANIX 5 TABLET is not recommended for patients who have an inability to urinate or electrolyte disbalance and have comatose condition due to liver cirrhosis.
Before taking ZYTANIX 5 TABLET inform your doctor if you have kidney disorder, rheumatism, diabetes, infection, eye problems, or you are about to have any surgery. ZYTANIX 5 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Consult with your doctor for advice.
Safety and effectiveness of ZYTANIX 5 TABLET in children have not been established. It should be used with caution in elderly with reduced kidney function. The most common side effects of taking ZYTANIX 5 TABLET are nausea, vomiting, congestion, diarrhoea, muscle cramps, headache, dizziness, and tiredness. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.
