ABOUT ALCAREX EYE DROPS
ALCAREX EYE DROPS contains Alcaftadine which belongs to the group of medicines called Ocular antihistamines and decongestants. It is used to prevent eye itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Allergic conjunctivitis is an eye inflammation caused due to exposure of eye(s) towards various allergens such as pollens, dusts, or molds etc. Symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis may include eye redness, itching or irritation with excessive tear production. Alcaftadine is a H1 histamine receptor antagonist. It blocks the effects of certain chemicals (Ex. histamines) in the body which are responsible for triggering the allergic response.
