Digene is an antacid that neutralizes stomach acid to provide relief from acidity, gas, heartburn, and stomach discomfort. It contains magnesium hydroxide, which interacts with stomach acid to produce magnesium chloride, which is absorbed by the body. It also contains aluminum hydroxide, which inhibits the activity of the enzyme pepsin and alleviates heartburn.
