You should not take Istamet G-IR 50/500/1 Tablet if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus or acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis. Patients with active bladder cancer or a history of bladder cancer should also not take this medicine. Inform your doctor about all the other medicines that you take as some of them can affect or be affected by this medication.
