ABOUT ALERID SYRUP
ALERID SYRUP contains Cetirizine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines. It is used to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal rhinitis) which includes sneezing, irritated, runny or blocked nose and itchy, runny or watery eyes (in adults and children over the age of 2 years). It is also used to relieve symptoms of other allergies such as non-seasonal rhinitis (runny and itchy nose), skin allergies (such as rash, itching or hives) and pet or house mite allergies (in adults and children over the age of 6 years). ALERID SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney failure. Before taking ALERID SYRUP inform your doctor if you are due to have any allergy tests as this medicine may affect your allergy test results, have epilepsy or at increased risk of getting convulsions, or difficulty in passing urine (due to spinal, bladder or prostate problems). Avoid alcohol consumption while taking ALERID SYRUP to prevent any unusual effects. ALERID SYRUP should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor and it is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women as it may pass through breast milk. ALERID SYRUP is not recommended for use in children (below 2 years of age) and it should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side-effects of taking ALERID SYRUP are tiredness, headache, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth and sleepiness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect worsens or does not improve.
