ABOUT SOMPRAZ 80MG

Sompraz 80mg Tablet is used to treat conditions related to excessive stomach acid production, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, providing relief from symptoms and promoting healing.

Sompraz 80mg Tablet can also be used to prevent stomach ulcers caused by certain medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Take the medicine as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage will depend on the condition being treated, but it is usually prescribed for the shortest possible duration at the lowest effective dose. It is generally taken on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning or at least 1 hour before a meal. Continue taking the medicine even if your symptoms disappear until your doctor advises you to stop. If you have been taking this medication for a long time, your doctor may periodically check your magnesium levels, as prolonged use of this drug may cause a drop in magnesium levels.

Common side effects include headaches, constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, or feeling unwell. These effects are usually mild, but if they persist or trouble you, consult your doctor. Prolonged use of this medicine may increase the risk of side effects, such as a higher chance of bone fractures. Avoiding foods that worsen your symptoms, such as heavy, spicy, or fatty meals, is beneficial. Reducing the intake of caffeinated drinks like tea, coffee, cola, and alcohol can also help.

This medication may not be suitable for everyone. Before taking it, inform your doctor if you have severe liver problems, are taking medications for HIV, have experienced allergic reactions to similar drugs in the past, or have osteoporosis. Alcohol does not interfere with how Sompraz 80mg Tablet works. However, drinking alcohol can increase acid production in the stomach. This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. If you experience any of these, avoid driving, cycling, operating machinery, or using any equipment until you feel better. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
